Vectra OPC: Now also with six-speed automatic

The Vectra OPC and Vectra station wagon OPC offer their drivers even more safety and comfort with the Visibility Package, Park Pilot and Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS). And there is good news for automatic transmission fans: the 206 kW/280 hp 2.8-liter V6 turbo in both Vectra OPC models is now available with a six-speed automatic gearbox for the first time. As with the manual transmission versions, the top speed is electronically limited to 250 km/h.

Opel Vectra and Signum: Extensive upgrade

All variants of the already extensively equipped Vectra and Signum models are upgraded in model year 2008. The Vectra Edition Plus comes ex works with 17-inch light alloy wheels, two-zone Electronic Climate Control (ECC), Solar Reflect windshield, cruise control and on-board computer and an attractive, new morrocana/fabric upholstery combination. The Vectra Cosmo Plus adds to that the bi-xenon curve light, leather trim, seat heating in front, Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), Visibility package and Park Pilot. The popular 2.2 DIRECT gasoline engine with 114 kW/155 hp comes with a six-speed manual transmission as standard in the future. In the Signum line, the entry-level version is no longer available, and the models Edition Plus and Cosmo Plus are identical with those of the Vectra. The infotainment systems CD 30 MP3, CD 70 Navi and DVD 90 Navi for the Vectra and Signum come with a stereo input for external audio devices (Aux-in). The Sport package offers special sporty equipment that satisfies all requirements, including 18-inch light alloy rims in combination with the sports chassis, bumper and side sills in OPC design, sports steering wheel and sports seats.

Opel Corsa: Top speed of 210 km/h as GSi

The most prominent model year 2008 news in the Corsa line is the Corsa GSi with 110 kW/150 hp and a top speed of 210 km/h. Positioned between the Corsa Sport and OPC, it is available as a three or five-door model. The Corsa GSi impresses with its understated sporty look and extensive standard equipment, which includes air conditioning, split rear seat back, sport chassis with ESP, 17-inch light alloy wheels, sport seats and stereo CD-Radio CD 30 MP3 with steering wheel remote controls. Also new in the Corsa range: the 1.3 CDTI ECOTEC turbo-diesel (66 kW/90 hp) is now available with the automated Easytronic six-speed transmission. Opel also offers new 16-inch light alloy wheels in seven-spoke sport design for the popular CATCH ME Now and CATCH ME variants. The Cosmo comes standard with 11-spoke design wheels. Customers can choose 18-inch alloy wheels in five-spoke OPC design for the Corsa OPC. The model year 2008 versions with 15-inch steel rims are recognizable by their newly designed wheel caps. Further options are the color Sunny Melon and the infotainment system CDC 40 Opera with MP3 compatibility.

Opel Antara: New entry-level diesel engine with 127 hp

The Antara was previously available with three engines: one 2.4-liter, 103 kW/140 hp, four-cylinder gasoline unit, one 2.0-liter 110 kW/150 hp common-rail turbo-diesel – the customers’ clear favorite – and one 3.2-liter V6 gasoline engine with 167 kW/227 hp, the top engine in the range. Opel now offers the 2.0 CDTI for the Antara and Antara Edition in a second, especially economical variant with 93 kW/127 hp. Combined with the standard five-speed manual transmission, the efficient diesel unit with diesel particulate filter gives the elegant crossover an acceleration time of twelve seconds from zero to 100 km/h, and a top speed of 174 km/h. To make the Antara even more attractive, Opel also enhanced its equipment: the Edition and Cosmo variants now both come with Trailer Stability Assist (TSA) as standard. This innovative system ensures that dangerous swinging when towing a trailer (due to side wind or a sudden turning) is recognized quickly and reduced by electronic intervention. The Antara Edition now boasts a non-slip leather steering wheel and gear shift knob. The top Cosmo variant has heavily tinted heat-absorbing glazing in the rear. The Antara 3.2 V6 now comes with Automatic Leveling System (ALS) as standard, and the flat-folding front passenger seat is now a feature of the Edition and Cosmo packages. The integrated carrier system Flex-Fix, familiar from the Corsa, is now also available for the Antara, making the Opel crossover even more versatile. The highly practical carrier system stows away almost invisibly into the rear bumper. Just like other intelligent Opel systems such as Flex7 or FlexSpace, Flex-Fix also provides complete on-board functionality. So no parts need to be mounted or dismounted, and nothing need be stored away. The integrated rear carrier can be extended easily and carry up to two bicycles or a specially designed transport box, which allows for an extra payload of up to 25 kilograms. The box has a capacity of 160 liters, is made from robust, watertight plastic and mounted with an integrated lock. The transport box is black ex works, but can be color-keyed by an Opel Service Partner.

Opel Astra TwinTop: Luxurious Special Edition

While Astra TwinTop fans could not complain about the lack of variety to date, the range has now been expanded yet further with the special edition Astra TwinTop Endless Summer, which boasts especially luxurious equipment and a considerable price advantage. The special edition is available with all engines, as well as leather seats, 18-inch light alloy wheels, sport chassis and a windbreak, which supplement the already extensive Cosmo equipment. The CD 70 Navi infotainment system is available as an alternative to the leather trim.

Astra, Zafira, Meriva, Tigra and Combo: Even more attractive with new “sneakers�

The “sneakers� on the Astra, Zafira, Meriva, Tigra TwinTop and Combo are more attractive in model year 2008, and therefore the cars’ appearance as a whole. New additions include 15, 16 and 17-inch light alloy wheels in seven-spoke sport design, as well as 18-inch wheels in five-spoke design. The already multi-faceted infotainment system has also been enhanced. The powerful CDC 40 Opera with MP3 compatibility is available as an option, and the CD 30 MP3, CD 70 Navi and DVD 90 now come with a stereo input for external audio equipment.
