Side by side comparison
We got some new spy shots of the BMW X6, testing in Munich. Like the earlier shots, the X6 was running nearly undisguised, but our new angles provide a little more perspective on the X6’s radical new shape. The proper profile shot gives us our best look yet at the X6’s sloping hatch, and we also managed to catch the X6 with an X5. The X5 driver was trying to block our view of the X6, but he unwittingly gave us an interesting comparison shot between the two sport-activity vehicles. It’s a study in contrasts between style and function, and it will be very interesting to see how the X6 will fare in the marketplace.

CAN YOU SAY "PONTIAC AZTEK"? CAN SOMEONE PLEASE TELL ME WHAT THE POINT IS OF MAKING THIS CAR? "HONEY WHICH ONE DO YOU WNAT? THE X5 OR THE X6? LET'S GET THE X6, IT'S TALL AND WE REALLY DON'T NEED ANY USEABLE SPACE, PLUSS WHO CARES ABOUT GAS MILEAGE?"
What is the interest of such a car ? or what is the interest of having 2 SUV at BMW? so the good question is what is the interest of the X5 ?
this car is stupid, who would want a four seat x6?? the market isnt ready for it... and its a stupid idea 2 start wit...
id say comparing the x5/x6 is like comparing the mercedes e-class/cls-class, although the cls and the e are sedans not suvs. mercedes has 3 sedans besides the cls but all of them still sell well. bmw already has two suvs and this third one will probably be priced strategically enough not to affect the sales of the x5.
It seems BMW is spending a great deal of time and money on a chopped X5. The X6 doesn't look sleek or elegant. Yes, the huge wheels look "sporty," but the vehicle's probabl girth would limit targeted owners from actually putting such a vehicle though sporting paces. I'd prefer that BMW's time and money be spent on re-designing the 5-series, then bringing the turbodiesel-equipped new model to the states. THAT would be progress.
IF BMW WAS SMART THEY WOULD BUILD A FULL SIZE SUV INSTEAD OF ANOTHER MIDSIZE SUV. IF YOU ARE EXPANDING YOUR PRODUCT LINE ISN'T THE POINT TO ATTRACT NEW BUYERS? THE X6 IS TARGETING THE EXACT SAME BUYER THAT THE X5 IS. IT IS JUST A LESS USEFUL X5. IT'S BUBBLE SHAPE IS NOT SPORTY. MAKING A COUPELIKE ROOFLINE ON A SEDAN MAKES SENSE BECAUSE SEDANS ARE PEOPLE CARRIERS. I AM SORRY BUT THIS DESIGN SEEMS TO BE VERY ILL-CONCIEVED
