Earlier today we posted a batch of SL-Class major facelift spy pics of the AMG models. But moments ago, these more revealing shots landed on our desk. These non-AMG prototypes wearing Michigan plates have hit the Southwestern desert, and have now removed the front-end bra to allow for accurate cooling tests in the sweltering heat. This is our best look yet at the new SL’s CLS- inspired headlights, which sweep up around the front fenders, and the new chiseled front bumper and bold grille design. Tweaked tail-lights, a revised rear bumper, and new exhaust ports round out the changes at the rear.

If they could be bothered to deal with the front end, why not change the roofline? It'll look awkward.
I really dont need anyone telling me to shut up , and Love the new AMG front end and I will gladly purchase one if the new 55 is a 63? and it doesnt cost over 200K so there!
can anyone tell me what month this car is going to be available as the dealer and MB USA does not have a clue or just wont say??
i think this will be avail. in the US mid 2008.... MB is shooting right now commercials, as you can see with the dubai spy shots...
