With a total glazed surface area of 3.60 m2 in the five door version, unrivalled in its segment, the 308 offers its occupants a much appreciated interior brightness. The interior brightness can be increased even further with the fitment of a panoramic glass roof, which also removes a visual barrier between the rear passengers and the exterior. With the fitment of the panoramic glass roof the total glazed surface area increases to 4.86 m2.
The spectacular brightness diffused through the panoramic glass roof can be increased or reduced by means of an electric sunblind with two sliding sections and a safety auto-reverse function. On some versions, sun blinds built into the top of the rear door interior trim panels can be pulled up covering the window and shading the passengers.
Organisation of the passenger compartment for optimal space and comfort ????????????????????????????????

The semi-tall architecture of the 308 means that organisation of the passenger compartment can be dedicated solely to the wellbeing of passengers through the use of bespoke features. The elegant and uncluttered circular-shaped fascia panel, soft to the touch, provides everything necessary for driving and comfort and is anything but invasive.
The ergonomically designed and stylish door panels are very welcoming and offer good elbow support. The front seats with their contemporary styling express comfort and support without monopolising the interior space. Their special design of the frame frees up space for the legs and feet of the rear passengers.
The raised position of the rear seats combined with the compactness of the front seats creates an ???????????????????????????????????amphitheatre???????????????????????????????? effect which favours forward visibility and also improves leg room.
At ease in a bright and roomy car, passengers can enjoy the available interior space with dimensions that speak for themselves:
- at the front, an elbow width of 1.464 mm (1.505 in the three door version) and a vertical height of 924 mm, a class leading values in this segment;
- at the rear, an elbow width of 1.471 mm (1.474 in the three door version) and a vertical height of 890 mm, values that are among the best in this segment;
- a length of 3000 mm is available between the base of the front windscreen and the rear tailgate.
.. and for luggage ????????????????????????????????
The rectangular shape and clever layout of the boot allows for easy and practical use of the available space 430 litres (or 348 dm3 VDA) under the rear parcel shelf, or 442 litres (368 dm3 VDA) above the seat backs, including:
- a large polystyrene storage compartment partitioned above the space saver spare wheel with a volume of 17.27 litres (5 dm3 VDA), according to countries;
- an open storage area on the right-hand side and another, closed, on the left-hand side measuring 3.82 litres (0 dm3 VDA).
A ???????????????????????????????????ski flap???????????????????????????????? allows the transportation of long objects which can extend into the passenger compartment, while the design of the rear seats ??????????????????????????????????????? which divides 40/60 (seat back and seat cushions) ??????????????????????????????????????? makes it possible to increase the boot volume to 1 398 litres (1 201 dm3 VDA).
Adjustable straps and a luggage net (according to versions) complete the practical aspects of the boot. The luggage net can be installed in different ways by means of twelve fixing hooks from which shopping bags can also be suspended. The boot carpet can be raised using a strap and held in a raised position to enable hands-free use, by means of a red hook located on the rear parcel shelf.
Numerous storage spaces ????????????????????????????????
Testifying to the attention paid to the comfort and convenience of the car??????????????????????????????????????s occupants, storage spaces are numerous and cleverly appointed, offering a total storage volume of nearly 42 litres.
They include:
- the glove box with a capacity in excess of 10 litres able to accommodate a 1.5 litre water bottle. The glove box lid, with assisted opening/closing, has its own dedicated storage spaces. It is also air conditioned on some versions. Connectors for MP3 players, mobile audio or video devices (with telematics) are available on the left hand side, while special section allows the storage of spare fragrance diffuser cartridges;
- at the end of the console, after the two cup holder recesses, the cover of the central armrest provides access to a 2.12 litre storage space able to hold six CDs and assorted objects. A padded cover demonstrates the care given to its design;
- the area between the instrument panel and the console creates a space with a insulating mat in which keys and a mobile phone can be stored;
- the front and rear door pockets offer a total volume of nearly 15 litres in which to keep maps, guides and other objects within hand??????????????????????????????????????s reach. The front door pockets can accommodate a 1.5 litre water bottle positioned vertically, while those at the rear can accept a 50 cl bottle;
at the rear end of the console, a ???????????????????????????????????waste bin???????????????????????????????? with a tilting lid is available to accommodate unwanted items;
- a padded glasses holder, with a cushioned closure device, is attached to the roof arch in place of the driver??????????????????????????????????????s s upport handle;
- on the passenger side, a retractable hook for hanging bags is fitted to the footwell fascia panel trim;
in the absence of a CD auto-changer, an open area is available to accommodate various objects.
According to versions, other storage areas are proposed:
- drawers under the front seats;
- the rear seat central armrest includes a closed storage space, two cup holders, and two recesses for pens. It is located at the same level as the door armrests and therefore ergonomically placed for the rear passengers.
An ingenious rear parcel shelf
On some versions the traditional rear parcel shelf is replaced by a parcel shelf with a storage area of 8.75 litres, with a lid, able to hold objects, an umbrella or a tennis racket. Its clever lid has two opposing handles, making the contents of the storage area accessible from inside the car or from the rear with the tailgate open. Like the traditional parcel shelf, it can be stored upright behind the rear seats or flat at the bottom of the boot.
