A wide range of engines
With three petrol engines, one of which is available with an automatic gearbox, and two HDi diesel engines, at its launch the 207 SW has a very wide range of power trains. Petrol engines1.4 litre: 54 kW (75 bhp) - TU3A
The entry model is equipped with the 1.4 litre petrol engine (TU3A), developing 54 kW (75 bhp) and a torque of 118 Nm at 3300 rpm. The other petrol engines are the result of the co-operation between PSA Peugeot Citro??????????????????n and the BMW Group. 1.4 litre 16v VTi*: 70 kW (95 bhp) - EP3
This engine is the latest offering from the family of ???????????????????????????????????EP???????????????????????????????? engines. This 1397 cm3 engine develops a power of 70 kW at 6000 rpm and a torque of 136 Nm at 4000 rpm. Its performance is particularly usable, because 86% of the maximum torque, i.e. 117 Nm, is available from only 2000 rpm. The technological content of this engine constitutes a true first at this level and capacity. Apart from the reduced capacity due to the reduced piston stroke, this engine incorporates all the technological features used on the 1.6 litre VTi engine. It includes a continuous variable timing system on the inlet and exhaust camshafts and a variable inlet valve lift system, which allows the opening of the inlet valves to be adjusted gradually as a function of the accelerator pedal position. The use of these two VVT systems and the variable valve lift system ultimately improves the thermodynamic performance of the engine by significantly reducing consumption, and therefore its CO2 emissions, and guaranteeing improved response and greater flexibility. 1.6 litre 16v VTi: 88 kW (120 bhp) - EP6
With the same technological content, the 1.6 litre 16v petrol engine (EP6) offers a power of 88 kW (120 bhp and a torque of 160 Nm at 4250 rpm) The torque is produced very uniformly, because from low speeds (2000 rpm), it is already 140 Nm, i.e. 88% of the maximum torque, thereby guaranteeing good driveability. This engine is available either with a five speed manual gearbox or with an automatic gearbox with the Porsche Tiptronic sequential control.
The HDi diesel engines
With their 1.6 litre capacity, they are part of the ???????????????????????????????????downsizing???????????????????????????????? strategy of the PSA Peugeot Citro??????????????????n group, which is aiming to reduce both engine capacity and fuel consumption of its vehicles, while at the same time preserving their dynamic performance. With an aluminium block, a 16-valve cylinder head and an air to air, intercooler, it also benefits from a second generation common rail high pressure (1600 bar) direct injection system with injection nozzles with six, very small diameter holes to ensure the optimum air/fuel mixture. * Variable valve lift and Timing injection Two specifications are available: 1.6 litre 16v HDi: 66 kW (90 bhp) - DV6ATED4This engine has a power of 66 kW (90 bhp) and a torque of 215 Nm at 1750 rpm. 1.6 litre 16v HDi DPFS: 80 kW (110 bhp) - DV6TED4
This engine has a power of 80 kW (110 bhp) and a torque of 240 Nm at 1750 rpm. It can, however, achieve 260 Nm temporarily in the top three gears thanks to the ???????????????????????????????????overboost???????????????????????????????? function. This version has a variable geometry turbo charger. Equipped with a diesel particulate filter system, this engine makes the 207 SW particularly environmentally friendly.
