Alisa Priddle of Car and Driver had a little chit-chat with Bob Lutz and received a confirmation on the Blue Devil (or SS, Z07, Stingray). The Blue Devil is going to be pitted against the Dodge Viper SRT-10, but to quote Mr. Lutz "We're way up there with Porsche Carrera GTs and Ferraris." Bob Lutz goes on to say, "We want the vehicle to be safe and we want it to be predictable".
The expected arrival date is MY2009, which means it should hit showrooms late 2008 and hopefully we'll be getting the first final-drafts showing up at car shows early next year, most probably NAIAS 2008.
There is no official number yet, but it is for sure that the Blue Devil will have between 600 and 700 hp, so everybody is just splitting it down the middle at 650hp, but we would not be surprised at a number closer to 700.
