Bullet-Proof Chery Announced
Chinese automaker, and local DaimlerChrysler partner, Chery Automobiles has today announced that they will, together with Bognor Automotive from Uruquay, start building an armoured version of their Eastar. The heavily-padded Eastar would mainly be sold outside of China, but who the target audience is, is beyond me.
ChinaCarForums wonders whether an Eastar (or locally known as a Son of the Orient) can even handle the extra weight and whether the crash ratings will improve with the armouring.
