Press Release

Toyota has unveiled the latest version of the vehicle that embodies "4WD tough", the Toyota LandCruiser 70 Series. The highlight of the new range is Toyota's first turbo-diesel V8 engine, providing even better performance and excellent fuel economy. The new 4.5-litre V8 produces more than 150kW of power and 400Nm of torque while complying with the Euro IV emissions standard. LandCruiser 70 Series has also been restyled to accommodate the larger engine. It has been thoroughly revised ahead of the A-pillar, including a wider track and new sheet metal. Shown for the first time in Australia at the Brisbane International Motor Show, the updated and upgraded 70 Series is expected to go on sale around the end of March. Toyota Australia's executive director sales and marketing Alan Porich, speaking at the unveiling, said the power, economy and technology of the new V8 turbo-diesel engine will add a new dimension to the LandCruiser 70 Series. "The new V8 turbo-diesel engine and other improvements will enhance the performance, strength and legendary go-anywhere ability of the LandCruiser 70 Series," Mr Porich said. "The improved styling, which adds to the rugged looks of the 70 Series, will offer greater visual appeal for customers." Full details of the LandCruiser 70 Series, including specification and pricing, will be announced closer to its on-sale date.
