Interior and cargo space.
In keeping with its origins the new CrossGolf also has a spacious and variable interior. The instrument panel is built relatively high, and compared to the classic Golf the passengers sit 9.5 centimeters higher in front, referenced to the road, and 10.5 centimeters higher in the rear. This lends a feeling of open space with comfortable entry and excellent visibility. The luxurious interior height of 100.7
centimeters (97.6 centimeters in the rear) reinforces this perception. Thanks to its 258 centimeter long wheelbase the CrossGolf offers generous leg room in both front and rear.
The rear bench seat of the new CrossGolf is longitudinally adjustable. Depending on the configuration of the rear bench seat the cargo space varies between 395 and 505 liters. Additionally, the bench can be split into two segments that are independently adjustable by up to 16 centimeters. Furthermore, the middle seatback can be folded down separately, creating a pass-through, and it can be used as a table surface. As an alternative, the car can be ordered with a storage compartment and multifunctional box in the center.
Seatback angles are adjustable over several stages. When they are folded down completely ??????????????????????????????????????? during this process the seat cushions are automatically shifted a bit downward and forward ??????????????????????????????????????? up to 1,450 liters of cargo space is made available. In combination with the optional fold-down front passenger seatback the usable interior cargo length grows to 2.30 meters.
The cargo bed of the trunk area can also be used flexibly: When it is raised to the higher of two possible levels it creates a nearly flat cargo surface and an additional, lower storage compartment. If necessary the cargo bed may also be completely removed. The low trunk sill (68.8 centimeters on empty vehicle) and high opening hatch (height above ground: 2,099 millimeters) combine to make loading easier (Cargo capacity: More than 600 kilograms). There is also a 230 Volt power outlet in the rear seating area.
Cockpit and equipment features.
Just like the exterior, the interior of the CrossGolf also exhibits a color environment that is rich in contrasts. The so-called interior trim, i.e. the interior colors and materials, was specially developed for the new model.
The center panels of the seats all feature a waffled fabric called ???????????????????????????????????Profile Stone????????????????????????????????. They also contrast the side panels in color. The
seatbacks of the driver and front passenger seats have folding tables and storage pockets. Under the seats there are practical storage bins; overall there are abundant stowing options. Door coverings have fabric lined interior panels that are color coordinated with the seats. Alcantara and leather are also offered as seat cover options. In front the CrossGolf has standard sport seats that precisely support and position the body. They are height-adjustable and are also equipped with 2-way lumbar supports.
The cockpit of the new CrossGolf offers the same ideal ergonomic features as in its counterpart, the Golf Plus. Visually the cockpit is accentuated by silver metallic components. The eight round air vents have circular rings in ???????????????????????????????????Ice Silver Metallic????????????????????????????????. Standard equipment here includes a three-spoke steering wheel with perforated leather cover and seams that retain the ???????????????????????????????????Ice Silver???????????????????????????????? color as well as metal clasps in the same color. Leather also covers the gearshift knob and parking brake handle.
The CrossGolf drives off the assembly line with standard electrically adjustable and heated outside mirrors, four electric windowlifts and a multifunction display. Other special features include a special graphic insert in the gearshift knob (with manual transmission), door tread plate ???????????????????????????????????CrossGolf???????????????????????????????? decals, pedals in a robust aluminum look and floor mats with color contrasting border. Standard equipment also includes the Climatic ??????????????????????????????????????? a semi-automatic climate control system. Available as an option is the fully automatic Climatronic with 2-zone control.
Safety features of the new CrossGolf include six airbags on board (front airbags, side airbags and head airbags); rear side bags can be ordered as an option. As in the Golf and Golf Plus the front seats have crash-optimized head restraints and pyrotechnic belt tensioners with integrated force limiters (the latter also in the rear if optional rear side airbags are selected). In addition to its five three-point belt restraints and head restraints, Isofix child seat mounting fixtures are provided at the outer rear seating positions.
Most other options are based on features offered on the Golf Plus Sportline. These include a multifunctional leather steering wheel, iPod capability, DVD system for the rear seats, various audio and navigation systems, electrically adjustable driver??????????????????????????????????????s seat, acoustic parking pilot and bi-xenon headlamps with curve lighting.
