Press Release
Area-Limited Special Edition
To commemorate the certification of a new number plate displaying the names of areas (so-called area specific numbers) for the third time, Mitsubishi Motors will launch an area-limited special edition car, the “i KURASHIKI” (2WD, 1,099,000 Yen, consumption tax included). This car is the top car model of the Mizushima Plant, a part of Mitsubishi Motors, based in Kurashiki-shi, Okayama, a Futuristic Small Type “i”, in which a jeans pattern material is employed for the car seats since Kurashiki is where domestic jeans originated from. A limited number of 100 cars will be launched from Okayama Mitsubishi.
This area-limited special edition car, “i KURASHIKI” is based on the “S” grade of the naturally aspirated engine loaded model launched in October this year. Black-based interior appointments are used in addition to popular amenities such as a CD player plus 4 speakers with AM/FM radio specially designed for the “i” and privacy protecting glass (rear door, tail gate, etc.), and a decal for the exclusive use of the “i KURASHIKI”. Furthermore, a jeans pattern material is employed for the car seats since Kurashiki is a leading fabric town and one of the major production areas for jeans.
“i KURASHIKI” is the third to be produced for the area-limited special edition car to commemorate the certification of the “area specific number”, following the “ek KURASHIKI” (Okayama Mitsubishi) launched in October 20005 and the “COLT OKAZAKI EDITION” (Aichi Chuoo Mitsubishi). It will be on the market at a very reasonable special price.
