With the Ford S-Max now in production and the release of the Ford Mondeo Concept at the Paris Motor Show, the Ford Focus C-Max’ facelift falls right in line with the Ford four-year model cycle. The facelift Ford has planned for the C-Max is not major though. The rear will most likely stay as it is, the front however will include a new grill, bumper and headlamps and if any new engines will debut it would most likely be a diesel. Ford is trying to create a family of people carriers and the resemblance is strikingly clear already when comparing the new Galaxy to these spy photos of the C-Max. An educated guess would be that only the fog lights will be different. When the face-lifted C-Max will be introduced is not clear as of yet, but Geneva seems to be the best bet.
Much later will come the Ford Cross Max, the production version of the compact SUV the company had a first concept of on display in the French capital some days ago. Despite the extraordinary design of the Iosis X Concept shown in Paris, the real machine will be tamed down to become the make’s family SUV, pointing straight at VW’s new Tiguan to go into production around the same time. “There has been a lot of speculation about Ford producing a compact cross-over or SUV,” said Ford of Europe boss John Fleming. “The Iosis X sends a very strong message that we will be entering this market and our new model will be stylish and individual.” Expect the final version to appear at the Frankfurt Motor Show next autumn, with sales kicking off early in 2008. Prices will start from around 24 000 Euros.
