First interior shots

Caught out during final testing near the Hambach factory were the Smart ForTwo Coupé and Cabriolet – and we even got the first shots of the interior while a much more disguised prototype was undergoing hot-weather testing in the U.S.
But although even the cars tested in Europe were still camouflaged with thin disguising, the proportions and layout of the cars appear little changed. While the wheelbase remains similar, the nose has been lengthened to make room for larger crumple zones.
There are also fresh headlamps and a new grille plus a prominent sharp edge across the whole width of the door.
The upright door handles have been swapped for conventional items, while the mirrors are new as well.
At the rear, buyers can expect revised lights and a reprofiled bumper line. The ForTwo will make its debut in spring 2007.
