Here are the latest photos of the next generation Ford Mondeo as a saloon version during testing in the Austrian mountains. The pictured prototype has the typical disguise of heavily stuffed padding concealing the car’s front and rear contours.
The current Mondeo has been on the market since the year 2000. Now the next generation Mondeo scheduled for launch at the end of next year will be available in a much larger variety of body styles all on the same platform.
There will be a Mondeo fastback, sedan, station wagon and convertible. And additionally the future D-Max (small Galaxy with 5 seats) and the E-Max (big Galaxy with 7 seats) will also share the Mondeo’s platform.
An equally wide selection of fuel engines ranging from 1.8 litre 110hp to 2.3 litre 240hp will be offered, plus four Diesels from 1.6 litre 109hp to 2.2 litre 275hp. Power for the sportiest top of the line model, the Mondeo ST, will come from Jaguar and Volvo.
