Want More Omelette?

Porsche might have reverted to its time-honoured, rounded head lamps and eschewed the 'omelette' lights on the new Boxster and 911 sportsters, but it appears the company is doing the opposite for its Cayenne off-roader.
These latest shots reveal a more aggressive front end for the 4x4, with the guppy-like headlights getting a sharper treatment. There also appears to be a longer front overhang, perhaps tacked on to meet tighter front-impact and pedestrian safety requirements. However, whereas up to 80 percent of body panels were replaced on the new 911 and Boxster models, it appears that the facelifted Cayenne's body shape will remain largely intact...
The car has been on the market since winter 2002 and is now about to undergo a first major restyling scheduled for release in the beginning of 2007 – most likely at the Detroit Motor Show. As can be seen in our pictures, standard Cayennes will feature one huge oval exhaust pipe integrated into each corner of the rear bumper as well as an upright lamp unit at the outer edges of the front air intake.
Turbo Cayennes, however, will receive two pairs of exhausts plus the 911 Turbo’s horizontally mounted LED unit incorporated into the front air intakes. The Turbo will also feature wider fenders and more sculpted side skirts. Quite obviously chrome has come back in many places. Inside the Cayenne the design and styling has also been remodelled making the next Cayenne generation even more luxurious.
