Nissan’s big SUV, the Armada, will get a restyling inside and out for release in 2007 as a 2008 model year. These latest photos capture a prototype undergoing testing in the US southwest.
Most obvious design change is the new one-piece plastic bumpers front and rear, which replace the 3-piece bumpers used previously in which there was a chrome metal facebar in the center and right and left side plastic end extensions. The grille has been slightly revised with less massive chrome bars, and the headlights are also reshaped, with a larger area on top for the turn signals, and a sloping instead of horizontal lower edge.
All the tape around the wheel openings probably indicates the addition of a wheel lip moulding. At the rear the design is nearly unchanged, except for the new bumper which has built-in rear reflectors and a central cut-out area for the trailer hitch.
Inside the Armada has an improved instrument panel with the center air conditioning vents moved higher on the dash, and a larger and better integrated video display for use with the navigation system. Door panels have also been revised with some metal trim for highlights and door handles repositioned for easier reach.
