Top Secret's high performance products test car
The latest edition of the Skyline in Japan is a different breed of animal from past generations. Gone are the twin turbo induction, all wheel drive handling, and GTR namesake associated with the R chassis of Skylines. Enter the CPV35; known in Japan as the Skyline 3.5T and in North America as the Infiniti G35 coupe. This tame beast is more of a luxury vehicle then sports car, complete with leather seats and wood trim this would be the last vehicle you would expect to set a top speed record…or is it?
Top Secret, one of the top tuners in Japan, would not allow the Skyline heritage to be forgotten and took it upon themselves to create a line of products that would instill the thrill and enjoyment of driving a vehicle bearing the revered Nissan title. The man behind Top Secret, Smokey Nagata, designed and built a V35 Skyline that is truly worthy of the moniker GTR. This vehicle reached a top speed of 341 km/h on the Autobahn and makes in excess of 800whp. It serves as a testing ground for the high performance products that are offered through Top Secret's international distribution arm, Top Secret III.
When attempting to travel at high speeds, the aerodynamics of the vehicle will dictate whether you will meet your goal or not. Top Secret designed their G Force widebody aero kit for the vehicle using hand laid fiberglass to give the parts the rigidity needed to withstand the forces at such high speeds.
For those attempting to replicate Smokey's run, Top Secret offers both single and twin turbo kits for the vehicle's VQ35 motor that can be expected to put out 450-550whp. The single turbo kit comes with an HKS GT30 Pro turbocharger and Top Secret Steel Exhaust Manifold. Intake and intercooler piping is not included with kit. Their twin turbo kit is equipped with twin HKS turbos and Top Secret Stainless Steel Exhaust Manifolds. Intake and intercooler piping is included with this kit.
Sometimes turbo is just not the way to go for vehicle owners and Top Secret has designed enough parts to satisfy the hunger of anyone's all motor cravings. For those who enjoy air filters, an aluminum high flow intake pipe is offered; for those who want direct injection a gold funneled individual throttle body setup has been designed for ultimate throttle response and performance. The induction parts continue with their carbon intake surge tank kit and 100mm throttle bodies available in aluminum and billet aluminum. Inside a Top Secret motor you can expect to find 95.7mm High Compression Pistons with rings along with Titanium Retainers and Titanium Valve guides to free up some weight. On the exhaust side exhaust manifolds are offered in both stainless steel and titanium construction, guaranteed to deliver horse power gains while dropping the weight of the stock restrictive unit.
All of Top Secret's vehicle run their own fluids as well that are available for sale to the public. The Fusion line of oils and additives are designed for to deliver the best possible performance and minimal friction. Oils are offered in several different viscosities along with brake fluids and the ever popular Nano Tech engine treatment which coats the internals of your engine with a fine diamond/graphite layer.
Smoky and Top Secret have been developing Nissans and Toyotas that push the limits of imagination and physics for years. As new vehicles are released it can be expected that Top Secret will be hard at work delivering the highest quality products for your late model sports car.
