Production to start soon in Iran
- The Romanian plant is the main production site for Logan.
- Currently produced in Romania, Russia, Colombia and Morocco, production of Logan will be launched in Iran this year and in India and Brazil in 2007.
- 267,000 Logans sold worldwide since September 2004.
On May 29, 2006, the 250,000th Logan rolled out of the Dacia plant in Pitesti, Romania, the leading production site for Logan. It supplies 35 of the 42 countries in which Logan is sold, i.e. all European markets, together with Turkey, Algeria, the Ukraine, Middle East and Central Africa.
Logan is also manufactured in Russia, where 25,000 vehicles were produced from April 2005 to May 2006, as well as Morocco and Colombia. Production will soon start in Iran, followed by India and Brazil in 2007.
Designed to meet the needs of customers in the new growth markets, Logan has risen to the challenge. The modern, reliable and roomy car has attracted customers the world over and some 267,000 Logans were sold between September 2004 and May 2006. It is proving highly popular in countries in which it is marketed, in particular Western Europe, where it was launched in eight countries, including France, in the spring of 2005.
Logan sales worldwide break down into 56% in Western Europe, including Romania, 20% in Europe (26 countries, including France, which accounts for 7% of world sales), 10% in Russia/CIS, 5% in Turkey, 5% in the Maghreb countries and 4% in the rest of the world (Americas, Asia, Africa).
2006 marked a new stage in the life of the X90, the code name for Logan and its derivative versions. The Logan Steppe Concept show car presented at the Geneva motor show is the harbinger of an extension of the line. The 1.5 dCi engine is now available in Central, Eastern and Western Europe as well as in Turkey, Morocco and Algeria. The diesel version thus represents at the end of May 2006 55% of the mix in France and 21% in the other countries in Western Europe. In many countries, it is the most affordable diesel car available, contributing to the novel value for money offered by Logan.
