Mini is Now Housebroken
The Eibach suspension specialists are known for exceptional project vehicles. The basis of the latest Eibach project is a Mini One Diesel. This car shines not only as a result of its Pro-Street-S Stainless Steel Coil-Over Suspension System, but also because of the increased performance of RT Performance, a particle filter from HJS and special BBS wheels with matching Pirelli tires.
Since the aim of each Eibach project vehicle is achieving the absolute maximum improvement in every aspect, Eibach partner RT Performance from , has put the Mini through a performance-enhancing course. The result: Instead of 75 hp, this vehicle now features 93 hp. Maximum torque is now at 230 Nm, while the stock model only has a maximum of 180 Nm. The driving performance has also been optimized: While the serial Mini has a top speed of 165 km/h, the Eibach Mini One Diesel tops out at 180 km/h.
The particle filter from HJS is designed to enhance the driving performance of the vehicle whilst maintaining the levels of emission within the recommended guidelines. The subject of aftermarket particle filters is brand new. Even though new series-production vehicles are now being offered with particle filters, this Eibach Mini One Diesel shows that models without filters can also be converted without a problem. With its original DPF City-Filter, Eibach partner HJS Fahrzeugtechnik has developed a filter system that is exceedingly suited for the aftermarket. The City-Filter is based on the Sintered Metal Filter (SMF®) that was awarded the German Environmental Prize in 2003. The strengths of this concept are its definable filter efficiency combined with a high level of operational reliability. The City-Filter works without additives and attains an efficiency level adapted to the respective vehicle. This guarantees that the filter achieves the legally prescribed limit values in aftermarket vehicles. 70 percent of the noxious particles remain in the filter, assuring that the Mini comes very close to the latest recommended limit values for particle emission, the EURO 5.
For optical reasons, the Eibach Mini has also been fitted with a weld-on HJS exhaust cover.
In the Eibach Mini One Diesel, a special version of the Eibach Pro-Street-S Stainless Steel Coil-Over Suspension System has been installed. Due to the performance increase and the wheel-tire combination, a special model with specific ERS springs was applied. With Pro-Street-S, Eibach offers high-quality, top sporting performance for the street, whether it is for the daily drive to work or for the ultimate kick on the Nürburgring Nordschleife. The height- adjustability of the Pro-Street-S enables adjustment for each individual requirement: Either sporty-comfortable for normal driving, or sporty-firm for threshold conditions.
The TÜV-certified Pro-Street-S enables height-adjustment from between 20 to 70 millimeters, depending upon the car model. Complete documentation ensures easy handling. The uncompromising quality of the Pro-Street-S product line from Eibach is additionally guaranteed by the certified Quality Management System in accordance with DIN ISO-TS 16949.
The sporty overall character of the Eibach Mini One Diesel is further emphasized by the sporty wheels from Eibach partner BBS. The one-piece RF wheel from the “Sports Line” range has an attractive young and dynamic look. Formula 1 provided the inspiration for this classic cross-spoke wheel with the central locking look. The design of the distinctive offset spokes represents lightness with the greatest degree of stability at the same time. A brilliant-silver surface underlines the sporty dynamics of the BBS wheel, installed in 7 x 16 inch size in the Mini.
As exclusive as they are functional and subsequently perfectly suited for the overall project are the Pirelli P6000™ tires. These tires are convincing by their sporty performance and their extraordinary handling properties. The innovative wave profile features an almost completely continuous profile block that reaches from the middle of the tire to the tire shoulder. Interrupted only by winding cross-flutes, this profile results in outstanding aquaplaning properties. A special silica mixture in the P6000™ ensures top performance on dry roads as well as a maximum grip on wet roads. The result: Optimum vehicle control in acceleration, curves and braking - the ideal tires for an extraordinary vehicle like the Eibach Mini One Diesel.
