Skating back onto UK TV screens

The award winning Citroën C4 transforming robot proves that it is ‘alive with technology’ as it returns in a brand new, ice cool advert that will hit the small screen from 5 June.
In the new ad, the latest incarnation of the Citroën robot has switched location from a roof top car park to an ice covered lake. It speed-skates energetically across the lake, to communicate the superb handling, agility and braking qualities of the C4, before coming to a stop, showering a cloud of ice over a group of on-lookers.
Produced by the UK office of Citroën’s creative team at Euro RSCG and set to electro-house track ‘Walking Away’ by The Egg, the ad was created with the help of Nicky Gooch – coach of the British Olympic speed-skating team. Motion sensors were placed all over his body to record his every move before the animation team set about creating the transforming robot.
Mike Ibbett, Citroën UK’s Marketing Director said: "The C4 is now the second best selling Citroën in the UK and the revamp of our award winning advertising is designed to maintain the C4 in the national consciousness. We were keen to provide an alternative style, to reveal a different side to the robot’s personality and highlight the dynamism of the car."
The C4, which is available in both hatchback and coupe versions, really is ‘alive with technology’, featuring high spec gadgetry that includes a fixed hub steering wheel with multi function controls, Lane Departure Warning System, speed limiter, cruise control and directional headlamps.
Recently voted 2006 World Car Design of the Year, at the New York International Auto Show, the C4 can be driven away from under £10,000 including the cashback offer.
