Following the outstanding sales performance of the Chrysler 300C in its first six months in Australia, owners took to the streets on the weekend to display their vehicles in a show and shine and street cruise event.
In what was the first 300C gathering of its kind in Australia, around thirty enthusiasts and many onlookers gathered at Albert Park in Victoria yesterday for the show and shine and street cruise.
The event gave interested members of the public an opportunity to view the cars, meet the owners and see how many of the 300C’s have been personalised.
“The 300C attracts so much attention wherever it goes,” said John Waymouth, organiser of the event and 300C SRT8 owner, “so you can imagine the response we got with eleven 300C’s all in the one place.”
“Owners are so passionate about their 300C’s, they’re like Harley Davidson owners in that respect.
“This gathering is the first, and we anticipate that they will get much bigger, especially with all the new models arriving - there is a lot of potential,” said Waymouth.
Growing the 300C line-up, the high performance, 317kW, 300C SRT8 made its debut late last month and wagon (300C Touring) and diesel versions will further strengthen the range, arriving mid year.
The 300C is enjoying spectacular sales success in Australia and around the globe, with customers taking to the vehicle’s bold performance and unmistakable styling.
In the U.S. 300C sales surpassed 300,000 units last month, making it the fastest Chrysler Group vehicle to reach the milestone, following its introduction in April 2004.
Locally, with 131 registrations last month, the 300C took a commanding 34 per cent lion’s share of the upper large segment (under $100,000), outperforming local competitors including the Holden Statesman and Ford Fairlane.
