Press Release
At least 15000 to be built in 2006
Series production of the Roomster car started in the Å koda plant at Kvasiny recently. At least 15,000 Roomster cars will have come down the line by the end of the year 2006 with the plant's daily output gradually amounting to as many as 190 Roomster car units.
The production capacity of the modern Å koda production plant at Kvasiny has primarily been expanded in assembly and welding shops because of the fourth Å koda model range. New parking spaces for newly-made cars, a new logistic centre, a new employee car park, an employee bus station, and new entrance gate for freight automobile transport have also been built. The purpose of these arrangements was to reduce traffic and environmental stress.
The Å koda Roomster will be launched on major European markets in the summer of 2006. By the end of this year, approximately 1,800 cars shall head for the Czech Republic where the sales will be opened in June. Potential customers can buy Roomsters for prices starting at 339,900 crowns. Ample basic equipment will include two frontal and two lateral impact airbags, a three-point seatbelt harness for each seat, ABS, MSR, the Dual Rate assist brake booster, power assistance, and the VarioFlex variable rear seat system among other things.
