On sale later this month
Peugeot have just announced pricing for the stunning new 407 Coupe, which goes on sale in Australia later this month.
While Motorshow goers around the country have already been impressed by the Coupe’s dramatic styling and sumptuous interior, visitors to Peugeot showrooms will be equally impressed when enquiring about the price of this exclusive car.
A true ‘Grand Tourer’ in every sense, the 407 Coupe succeeds in blending the perfect mix of style, technology and luxury into a comprehensive automotive package. Three versions of the 407 coupe will join the Peugeot range, all complying with strict Euro 4 emission standards.
A 3-litre V6 petrol engine with 24-valves and variable valve timing powers two versions, producing 155 kW of power and 290 Nm of torque, available with either a six-speed manual gearbox or new six-speed automatic transmission. Priced at only $65,990 and $68,190 respectively, the Coupe represents outstanding value for money.
Groundbreaking in luxury motoring, the 2.7-litre V6 HDi model, equipped with a 6-speed automatic gearbox as standard, develops 150 kW and a staggering 440 Nm of torque from a low 1,900 rpm. The twin-turbo charged HDi engine represents ‘state of the art’ diesel engine technology, and is priced at a remarkable $72,500.
It is the first time a diesel-powered luxury sports coupe model has been offered for sale in Australia, enhancing Peugeot’s long standing reputation as the technological leader in diesel motoring.
The V6 diesel engine offers the highest specification in terms of performance, economy, environmental protection and drivability thanks to the refinement of its operation. Fitted with a particulate filter (standard on all Peugeot diesel engines) the Coupe HDi’s emission levels are outstandingly low, meeting with Euro 4 requirements.
All versions of the 407 Coupe are generously equipped, and Coupe buyers will be pleased to learn that the car’s long list of standard features rival those of far more expensive cars. A small taste;
Directional bi-xenon headlights, Cruise control with speed limiter, Front & Rear parking sensors, 18” Alloy wheels (plus full size spare) with tyre pressure sensors, Dual zone digital air conditioning with climate control, Leather upholstery, JBL hi-fi with MP3 playback, 6 disc CD auto-changer, Auto headlights and windscreen wipers, Electric heated front seats and Trip computer. Even Metallic Paint is standard on the 407 Coupe.
The 407 Coupe is also a very safe car, scoring a maximum 5-star result in ENCAP testing. This exemplary performance results especially from the excellent behaviour of the 407 structure, with dual track absorption of forces which have been adapted to the Coupé body shell for frontal impacts, and to the lateral reinforcements of the door and its surrounds. This assembly is perfectly assisted by the active and passive safety features that abound in the 407 Coupe, such as;
The latest generation Electronic Stability Program (ESP) including ABS, Electronic Brake Force Distribution, Emergency Brake Assist and Dynamic Stability Control, Seven Airbags (Driver and passenger SMART airbags, front side airbags, full length curtain airbags and a steering column airbag), retractable steering column in the event of an accident, active front seat headrests, pre-tensioning and force limiting front seatbelts, automatic door unlocking in the event of an accident and the automatic activation of hazard lights under emergency braking.
With hundreds of people at recent Motorshows registering their interest in the Coupe without even knowing the price, the car is sure to be highly sought after, with waiting lists expected on launch.
