The Jeep brand is expanding into new territories during 2006 with the all-new Jeep Compass, the seven-passenger Jeep Commander, the fastest-ever Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8, the upscale Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland and the exciting Jeep Patriot concept vehicle.

Jeep Compass

Making its European debut at the Geneva Motor Show, the Jeep Compass production vehicle combines the packaging and functionality of an SUV with the performance, handling, fuel economy and price of a compact car. Compass offers a fully independent suspension for comfortable on-road ride and handling and fun-to-drive characteristics combined with a 2.0-litre diesel engine and 2.4-litre petrol engine providing the confidence and assurance that comes with a Jeep "active" full-time 4x4 system.

The Jeep Compass also provides highly efficient fuel economy, a long list of safety features, a choice of two powertrains, and interior flexibility, all at a great value. Further enhancing Compass' handling and safety is a host of road-holding technologies from Brake Traction Control and Electronic Stability Program to Electronic Roll Mitigation and Brake Assist. Compass will be available at dealerships around the world during the second half of 2006.

Jeep Commander

The introduction of the all-new Jeep Commander, on sale in Europe from March, signals the ongoing Jeep product offensive scheduled for the next two years in markets outside of North America. Classic in design, Commander is the first of the Jeep family to offer standard three-row seating, accommodating up to seven passengers. This nimble, rugged 4x4 is engineered to perform as only Jeep vehicles can, offering more capability, more flexibility and advanced safety and security
technologies that are sure to appeal to international customers.

Jeep Commander shares the same Jeep 4 x 4 drive systems, powertrains and wheelbase as Grand Cherokee and is every bit as maneuverable and off-road capable as its five-seater sibling. Produced in Graz, Austria with the new 3.0-litre CRD V-6 engine and a choice of two petrol V-8 engines including the 5.7-litre HEMI® with MDS, the Commander will be a compelling package for many customers when it becomes available in the first quarter of 2006 in Europe and markets outside of North America.

Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8

The all-new Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8 also making its European debut at the Geneva Motor Show combines the brand's famous qualities with Street and Racing Technology's (SRT) balanced approach to performance, resulting in the quickest, most powerful Jeep vehicle ever created. Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8 offers raw power, exceptional ride and handling, world-class braking, race-inspired interior appointments and functional, performance-oriented exterior enhancements.

The Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8 is powered by a 6.1-litre HEMI® V-8 with performance targets of 0-100 km in the low 5-second range.

Also produced in Graz, the Grand Cherokee SRT8 will be available in international markets in the second quarter of 2006.

Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland

New for 2006 is the addition of the range-topping Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland model. With a soft-touch premium interior and platinum-accented elegant exterior, the Overland model takes the Grand Cherokee to new upscale heights. Inside, the Overland model delivers an up-market ambience, with enhanced trim materials in wood and leather. Two-tone seats with ultra-suede and leather trim are embroidered with an Overland logo. Elegant exterior platinum accents round out the appealing package.

Also built in Graz, the new Overland model will be available in European and other international markets during the first quarter of 2006.

Jeep Patriot Concept

Jeep designers have gone to the extreme once again, creating an all-new SUV concept that could be developed to expand the Jeep brand into further new territory. First shown at the Frankfurt Motor Show last year, Patriot is shown again in Geneva to further gauge public response to a concept that hints at a model the Jeep brand could build for global markets as soon as next year.

A very distinctive interpretation of a compact Jeep, Patriot is designed to complement Jeep Compass as the two models target different sets of consumers who seek great value and fuel efficiency. The 4x4 Jeep Patriot Concept would expand the brand's global lineup, and offer all-new Jeep technology for genuine Jeep-style road capability, but Patriot would also be the most capable vehicle in its class.

Jeep Brand

The heroic heritage of Jeep and its dominance of the SUV market stretch back more than 65 years. Jeep is known worldwide for its core attributes of mastery, authenticity, freedom and adventure. Sales of Jeep brand vehicles outside of North America rose 15 percent year-over-year with 84,019 units sold in 2005. All three models Wrangler, Cherokee (Liberty) and Grand Cherokee posted gains over the prior year.
