Released For Summer
Mitsubishi Motors is releasing a limited edition Outlander with a host of desirable features for the coming summer period.
Based on the LS model, and badged the Outlander Activ, the compact SUV has sports roof rack cross bars, a 6-CD in-dash stacker and alloy nudge bar as well as “Activ” decal identification and a $500 fuel voucher.
All-up over $2,000 of additional value has been included for no additional cost, and makes an ideal vehicle for summer touring.
Powered by a powerful 2.4 litre SOHC four-cylinder Euro 3 compliant engine with MIVEC (Mitsubishi’s variable valve timing), the Outlander produces 120kW of power at 5750 rpm and 220Nm of torque at 4000 rpm. Coupled to a four-speed ‘Smart Logic’ automatic with ‘Sports Mode’ sequential shifting capability, the drive is put to the ground through a Lancer Evolution-derived full-time four-wheel drive system with Viscous Coupling Unit.
The front suspension is a MacPherson strut arrangement, and the rear suspension is Mitsubishi’s proven multi-link trailing arm system that is optimised to extract the best in sporty handling. Stabiliser bars are fitted front and rear.
With standard features like dual air bags, power steering, power windows, power external mirrors, cruise control, air conditioning, full instrumentation, four-speaker audio system, two-speed windscreen wipers with speed sensitive intermittent function and rear windscreen wiper with intermittent function, it is easy to see that Outlander Activ represents great value for money at $32,490. Side air bags are optional at $500.
