First photos of next Generation
The just launched new AMG 8 cylinder 6.3 litre 510 HP engine, which came first on the market in the Mercedes M-Class is about to climb up the career ladder further.
These photos are showing for the first time the AMG version of the new CL in cold weather testing. The prototype is featuring a different front end, and - according to the cover on the dashboard - also a sportier look of the cockpit.
The new standard CL is expected to come to the showrooms in December 2006, but the AMG version will be due in spring 2007 only in a small production line. It will carry an additional "63 AMG" nameplate on the boot lid.
The car will be furthermore equipped with a seven-speed automatic transmission, ceramic brakes and additional air intakes in the front skirt.
Just like in the BMW M series, the Mercedes AMG models can be recognized from the four big exhaust pipes and huge brake disks.
