Fun in black: In future smart drivers can travel as (wo)men in black in the special model smart fortwo purestyle - and can take advantage of a price saving of around 700 euros.

The smart fortwo purestyle is available as a fortwo coupé or a fortwo cabrio, with a 45 kW (61 bhp) petrol engine or a 30 kW (41 bhp) diesel engine. The smart fortwo purestyle offers customers looking for a vehicle with lifestyle appeal lots of fun behind the wheel coupled with an attractive price/performance ratio.

Extensive range of standard equipment

The smart fortwo purestyle has a black tridion safety cell, bodypanels in jack black, exclusive alloy wheels with a machine-polished surface and glossy deep black paintwork. The exclusive appearance is emphasised by bicolour rear lights, side indicators in white and black interior contrast components.

The leather steering wheel, leather gear knob, clock and rev counter provide for a sporty feel in the interior. Air conditioning is also included in the standard spec. The smart audio package, a further standard feature, provides a high-quality musical backdrop.

The petrol-engine variants cost € 10,950 and € 13,650 respectively in Germany and the diesel variants are available at a price of € 11,700 and € 14,400 (prices refer to the fortwo coupé and the fortwo cabrio).

The smart fortwo purestyle will be presented to the general public at the International Motor Show in Frankfurt/Main (12 - 25 September 2005).

As well as the current smart fortwo and smart forfour product range, in the Festhalle (hall 2) smart will also be presenting a concept car which clearly demonstrates the potential harboured by the unique and innovative vehicle concept of the smart fortwo.

The smart press conference will take place on the first press day (12 September from 13:00 to 13:30). Journalists are also warmly invited to start the second and third press days with a smart breakfast (September 13 and 14 2005, from 8:00 - 10:00).
