For the 2006 model year, Isuzu Motors America, Inc., adds two all-new, rugged pickup trucks, the i-280 and i-350, to its lineup. They join the Ascender 5- and 7-Passenger SUVs, and continue the Isuzu tradition of offering durable body-on­frame trucks that represent tremendous value to consumers.

 

2006 Isuzu Pickup

 

All-new for 2006, the i-280 Extended Cab 4x2 has a base manufacturer’s suggested retail price of $16,989 and features:

2006 Ascender 7-Passenger

 

Changes to Isuzu’s flagship SUV for 2006 include the following:

 

·          Standard Stabilitrak stability control system

·          50-state emissions

·          Two new exterior colors: Currant Red Metallic and Graphite Gray Metallic

·          Roof-rail airbag with rollover sensing system becomes optional on Preferred Equipment and LS Packages and standard on Limited

·          XM Satellite Radio becomes optional on LS and Limited

·          Auto-dimming electrochromic inside rearview mirror added to LS and Limited

·          Deleted 2WD traction control power management on LS and Limited

·          Deleted body side moldings with chrome insert from standard equipment (added

to PEP)

·          Deleted 3rd row seat flipper panel from standard equipment

·          Deleted rear cargo shelf (available as a dealer accessory)

·          Deleted running boards (available as a dealer accessory)

·          Deleted overhead console from standard equipment (added to PEP)

·          Deleted Homelink from standard equipment (Universal Home Remote System added to PEP)

·          Deleted OnStar from Limited package and made optional

·          Deleted heat from outside mirrors on PEP

 

2006 Ascender 5-Passenger

 

Ascender 5-Passenger returns for 2006 as well, and offers the same power, comfort, and value of its 7-Passenger big brother, but with a slightly shorter wheelbase. Changes include the following:

 

·          Standard Stabilitrak stability control system

·          50-state emissions

·          Two new exterior colors: Currant Red Metallic and Graphite Gray Metallic

·          Roof-rail airbag with rollover sensing system becomes optional on PEP and LS packages and standard on Luxury

·          XM Satellite Radio becomes optional on LS and Luxury

·          Auto-dimming electrochromic inside rearview mirror added to Luxury

Warranty

 

All Isuzu Pickup and Ascender owners continue to benefit from Isuzu’s seven­year/75,000-mile Powertrain Limited Warranty and matching 24-hour roadside assistance coverage. Isuzu Roadside Assistance provides lockout protection, flat tire repair, battery recharging, fuel delivery and towing (excluding accident-related incidents) at no charge to the customer.

 

These coverages are in addition to Isuzu’s three-year/50,000-mile basic and six­year/100,000-mile perforation from corrosion warranties.

 

Isuzu 2006 Pickups Pricing Announced

 

Isuzu Motors America, Inc., today announced the pricing for its all-new 2006 Isuzu Pickups. The entry-level i-280 Extended Cab 4x2 will start at a manufacturer’s suggested retail price of only $16,989—over $1,000 less than a comparably equipped 2006 Chevy Colorado.

 

“Isuzu has had a tradition of value pricing that we are proud to continue with the new Isuzu Pickups,” said J. Terry Maloney, president and COO of Isuzu Motors America. “We think the combination of a world-class midsize pickup, highly competitive pricing, and our tremendous warranty coverage will be very appealing to consumers.”

 

The value-packed Isuzu i-280 Extended Cab 4x2 features a Vortec 2800 2.8-liter inline four­cylinder engine, a choice of five-speed manual or optional four-speed Hydra-Matic transmissions, and three available option packages:

 

The Preferred Equipment Package, priced at only $699, includes rear jump seats with storage compartment; carpeted floor covering; cloth seat trim; AM/FM stereo with CD/MP3 player and more.

 

The LS Package, with an M.S.R.P. of only $939, adds power windows, door locks and outside mirrors; keyless remote entry; upgraded seat fabric; body side moldings; and more.

 

The Luxury Package, priced at only $1,569, offers limited slip rear differential; electronic traction control; head curtain side impact airbags; six-disc CD changer; leather-wrapped steering wheel; fog lamps; sliding rear window and more.

 

The flagship i-350 Crew Cab 4x4, with a base M.S.R.P. of $27,358, is powered by a Vortec 3500 3.5-liter inline five-cylinder engine mated to a four-speed Hydra-Matic transmission. The i-350 comes with all of the features in both the Preferred Equipment and LS Packages. As a result, amenities like AM/FM stereo with CD/MP3 player, full power, tilt, cruise and deluxe seat fabric are standard. Optional on the i-350:

 

The Limited Package, with an M.S.R.P. of $1,839, includes leather-appointed interior trim; eight-way power heated driver’s seat; six-way power heated passenger seat; six-disc CD changer; sliding rear window; and more.

 

All 2006 Isuzu Pickup owners will benefit from Isuzu’s seven-year/75,000-mile Powertrain Limited Warranty and matching 24-hour roadside assistance coverage. These coverages are in addition to Isuzu’s three-year/50,000-mile basic and six-year/100,000-mile perforation from corrosion warranties.
