Diesel-powered B-Class even more fun to drive
Powerful engine tuning, elegant and efficient aerodynamic-enhancement components, light-alloy wheels with 17- and 18-inch diameters, sporty yet comfortable ride height lowering, exclusive interiors: Right on time for the start of sales of the new Mercedes B-Class BRABUS (www.brabus.com) offers an exclusive tuning program covered by the unique BRABUS Tuning Warranty® of three years up to 100,000 kilometers (see BRABUS warranty conditions as of June 2003).
BRABUS offers the world's largest engine tuning program for Mercedes-Benz automobiles and the B-Class is no exception. Top priority of all BRABUS engine development is creating a symbiosis of enormous power, exceptional smoothness, exemplary environmental friendliness and durability beyond reproach. BRABUS recommends ARAL high-performance lubricants.
BRABUS PowerXtra – the performance tuning for Mercedes common-rail turbodiesel engines, tried and proven thousands of times – makes the diesel-powered B-Class vehicles even more fun to drive.
The BRABUS PowerXtra performance kit D3 (III) for the B 200 CDI delivers 50 hp / 36.8 kW of additional power. At the same time peak torque grows from 300 to 350 Nm between 1,600 and 2,600 rpm. With 190 hp / 140 kW the top-of-the-line CDI model of the B-Class accelerates in just 8.4 seconds from 0 – 100 km/h and achieves a new top speed of 215 km/h, up from 201 km/h for the non-tuned version.
BRABUS also offers engine tuning for the B 180 CDI: With BRABUS PowerXtra performance kit D2 (III) the maximum power output jumps from 109 hp / 80 kW to 143 hp / 105 kW. Simultaneously peak torque grows from 250 to 300 Nm. Performance benefits accordingly: The sprint from rest to 100 km/h now takes just 9.9 seconds, on the way to a top speed of 193 km/h.
All BRABUS tuning versions offer more than just excellent performance. Despite much better numbers the fuel economy remains on the level of the non-tuned production car. The same is also true for exhaust emissions: Like the production car the BRABUS-tuned B-Class CDI models meet stringent Euro 4 emission standards.
All BRABUS PowerXtra performance kits are also available for vehicles equipped with diesel particulate filters. The BRABUS T1 performance kit for the Mercedes B 200 Turbo is under development.
With or without engine tuning: The BRABUS stainless-steel sport exhaust system with two chromed tailpipes gives the B-Class a more exclusive appearance. But that's not all: The exhaust system was calibrated on the test bench and lends all B-Class engines – diesel or gasoline – a sportier engine sound.
Sporty elegance characterizes the BRABUS body program for the new Mercedes B-Class that adds visual highlights as well as further optimizes the car's aerodynamic properties. All parts are manufactured from high-quality Pur-R-Rim to OEM standards.
The BRABUS front spoiler is attached to the lower part of the production bumper and thanks to its refined shape reduces lift on the front axle. The front apron can be further upgraded with the addition of BRABUS headlamp sets with fog lights and high beams.
The BRABUS side sills give the B-Class longer, sleeker appearance. But that's not all: The optionally available LED entrance lights – activated with the keyless-entry remote or by pulling on a door handle – illuminate the ground next to the vehicle.
Chromed BRABUS moldings for the exterior mirrors emphasize the exclusive visual refinement as does the striking BRABUS rear apron with custom-tailored cutout for the two chromed tailpipes of the BRABUS sport rear muffler.
The BRABUS rear spoiler is attached to the tailgate. It combines sporty looks and aerodynamic efficiency by reducing lift on the rear axle.
Custom-tailored BRABUS light-alloy wheels add even more fascination to the new B-Class and offer even more agile handling. The BRABUS suspension engineers and test drivers developed custom-tailored tire/wheel combinations with 17- and 18-inch diameters.
The elegant fully polished five-hole wheels can be mounted at all four corners in sizes 7.25Jx17 or 7.25Jx18. BRABUS technology partners Pirelli and
For lowering the ride height by some 30 millimeters BRABUS offers sport springs which were calibrated specifically to be used with the production shocks.
In the automotive world the name BRABUS is synonymous with individualized exclusivity. The BRABUS interior designers put on their thinking caps to refine the interior of the Mercedes B-Class.
The lineup of fascinating products leaves nothing to be desired: Highly polished stainless-steel sill plates with illuminated BRABUS logo welcome driver and front passenger. The ergonomically shaped BRABUS sport steering wheel exudes exclusive ambiance as do an attractive BRABUS shifter or emergency brake lever. Door-lock pins or foot-pedal pads made from aluminum add sporty highlights.
Even more extravagant requests are fulfilled by the BRABUS-own upholstery shop. Whether completing the leather interior available ex-factory or creating an exclusive ambiance in any color imaginable: The BRABUS specialists transform the interior of the Mercedes B-Class into your very own salon on wheels – upon request even equipped with a multimedia package.
