2005 Ford F-150 Lobo edition is a new offering added to the F-Series lineup and will be built in limited production.
Since 1996, F-Series has been the best selling truck in the U.S. Hispanic marketplace.
Tough and capable. Untamed and spirited. Lobo – a name that’s rich with tradition – is joining the famed F-Series lineup as a limited edition offering for Ford’s truck customers in the Southwest. The new 2005 Ford F-150 Lobo edition will premier in an exclusive advertising campaign alongside Latino celebrity Pablo Montero.
Developed specifically for the Latino market, this special edition Ford F-150 Lobo makes its debut in the heart of truck country –
Pablo Montero, who has released five successful albums, is recognized as one of the most talented voices in traditional Mexican music. In 2004, he was nominated for a Latin Grammy award for his musical tribute to Mexican talent Javier Solis. Working with Montero helps Ford speak to its Latino audience with a solid message that combines the culture and beliefs of Latinos living in the Southwest.
"The F-150 is the number one truck sold in the Latino market, so it’s only fitting that Ford develop this truck exclusively for this segment," said Doug Scott, Ford truck group marketing manager. "Renowned in
MSRP for the 2005 F-150 Lobo STX edition 4x2 SuperCab is $26,355, not including the destination and delivery charge of $795.
Distinctive Monochromatic Exterior
The F-150 Lobo edition is based on the popular STX series and features several distinctive design elements. This vehicle makes a bold statement right up front with its upper billet grille that features a Ford oval predominately displayed in the center. Unique Lobo badging can be found on the rear tailgate.
The spirit of Lobo – a word that means "wolf" in Spanish – is expressed in the tough, muscular feel of the vehicle. A monochromatic design, including the bumpers, emphasizes the vehicle’s unique, aggressive body-colored upper and lower grille surround with integrated fog lamps. This vehicle is only available in Bright Red.
Riding on unique 17-inch, 5-spoke machined aluminum wheels, the F-150 Lobo edition delivers a smooth, controlled ride.
Stylish Interior
The F-150 Lobo edition’s interior exudes style and comfort. It is offered only as a SuperCab and has best-in-class interior space for up to 6 occupants. It comes standard with a flint cloth 40/20/40 front bench seat. The F-150 Lobo edition features additional cabin room behind the front seats to accommodate more passengers or to stow everyday gear.
In addition to the standard flint carpeting, the Lobo version comes complete with special edition Lobo embroidered floor mats.
The truck’s primary gauges are prominently displayed within a singe oval instrument binnacle. The speedometer, tachometer, fuel and temperature reading gauges are trimmed in silver and lay against a black background.
The F-150 Lobo edition comes equipped with an AM/FM stereo, 6-disc in-dash CD changer with MP3 capability.
Built to Last
The 2005 F-150 Lobo edition is offered in 4x2 only and is powered by a 4.6-liter SOHC Triton V-8 that delivers 231 hp at 4,750 rpm and 293 lb.-ft. of torque at 3,500 rpm. Electronic throttle control comes standard. This fighter-jet technology uses accelerator inputs to actively modulate torque at the drive wheels. The result is smooth, seamless engine response.
The engine is equipped with a standard four-speed automatic transmission.
The F-150 Lobo edition offers a number of standard safety features for its passengers. These include the Ford Personal Safety System™ for driver and front passenger with dual-stage air bags, alert chimes for the headlamps, key-in ignition and safety belt, fuel pump inertia auto shut off, LATCH (lower and tether anchors for child-safety seats), SecuriLock® passive anti-theft system, and side intrusion door beams.
