Bigger Value for the Award-Winning Golf
ÂÂÂÂ
Volkswagen is increasing the appeal of its award-winning Golf range still further with the announcement of lower prices and improved specification. The improvements mean that the extensive range of hatchbacks - which have some of the best residual values in their class - offer even stronger value to customers.
ÂÂÂÂ
With reductions ranging from £150 on the Golf S, to £910 on Golf GT FSI/GT TDI models, customers in the UK will now enjoy even more competitive pricing, value and choice.ÂÂÂÂ
ÂÂÂÂ
The fifth generation Golf has been a huge success since its launch in January 2004, selling over 60,000 units in its first year in the UK, and becoming the top selling car in Europe last year. It was crowned What Car? magazine's Car of the Year 2004 outright, and has received a number of other accolades.
ÂÂÂÂ
The revised prices are designed not only to be more attractive to prospective customers, but also to offer buyers a closer pricing structure - this will allow a choice based on specification rather than just pricing. As an example, customers can now choose between the comfort orientated Golf SE starting from £14,630 RRP on the road, or the sportier specification Golf Sport for a more comparable £14,900 RRP on the road.ÂÂÂÂ
ÂÂÂÂ
In addition to the price changes, Golf S models now enjoy climatic air conditioning as a permanent standard feature, with the Golf SE gaining rear electric windows (on five-door models) and a convenience pack as part of its standard specification. The convenience pack includes coming/leaving home lighting with automatic headlights on; automatic dimming rear view mirror; rain sensor; and front footwell illumination.
ÂÂÂÂ
The Golf range now starts from £11,845 RRP on the road for the S 1.4-litre 75 PS three-door. The recently launched GTI model, which is proving a hit among hot hatch buyers, is unaffected by the price and specification realignments.ÂÂÂÂ
