Unveiled at the Art Club Gallery

Nissan has joined forces with the worlds of Art and Fashion by commissioning artist David Cintract to completely repaint and redecorate a Nissan Micra. Sporting David Cintract’s favorite style, Pop Art, the Micra was displayed in Paris during Fashion Week. The car will also appear at the exhibit devoted to David Cintract at the Art Club Gallery in Paris, from 12 to 26 March 2005.

A decade after the “Micr’Art” series, which featured artists Kriki, Peter Klasen, Mosner, Ben and Mesnager, Nissan France is continuing its “Micramorphoses” project in 2005 by developing new partnerships with young artists.

Born in Chartes, France in 1970, David Cintract moved to Paris in 1987 to study graphic arts. A true child of the Pop Art movement, David Cintract draws his inspiration from current events, movies and cartoons to translate his vision of consumer society. A cross between Warhol and Roy Litchtenstein, David Cintract lets viewers freely interpret, in their own way, the subject of his paintings. David Cintract is an avid consumer of information, and he encourages us to think about or even to criticize our daily environment through his work.
