Caractère Automobile based in Belgium has been making top quality body styling equipment since 1992. Here we see their latest offerings for the new Audi A6 (C6 generation).
Building off the existing Audi A6 presence Caractère adds a bit of stylistic flair with subtle accents. The massive trapezoidal single frame front grille is the focal point representing Audi's new design language. It leaves very little room to work with however Caractère has done a fine job with a minimalist approach.
Caractère has replaced the standard slat grille and the fog lamp opening mouldings with a wire mesh unit for a uniform and sporty look. Before going into the paint booth make sure you give consideration to the front bumper fog lamp openings. If you take a look at the photos you'll notice an A /B comparison which shows the horizontal strip just above the fog lamp opening can be painted black for a more aggressive and snarling look.
When looking at the rear bumper we see only subtle styling differences from the stock version but not necessarily in a diminished sense but rather as a tasteful accent. The rear bumper has been sculpted with a more pronounced skirt insert area which is suited to larger exhaust tips (seen in photos) also available from Caractère. The front grille and rear bumper can be supplied to accommodate the Park Distance Control sensors.
And the finishing touches can be seen in the rear deck lid spoiler and RS6 badges.
Caractère products are manufactured in RIM Polyurethane (PU RIM) in Germany to ISO 9000 quality standard and approved by the German TUV in PU RIM. This method of manufacture brings a number of advantages. For example, a very high finish of injection-moulded products and a rapid rate of production. In addition, the flexibility of the material makes mounting easy which also means that Caractère products will be compatible with the new European standards in 2005 on pedestrian safety.
