Press Release
Following an impressive set of 2004 company car sales figures, Škoda is doubling its number of field staff in its Business Sales team from three to six. The move reflects Škoda’s rapid increase in market share of the fleet segment.
Škoda has seen unprecedented growth in company car sales over the past few years, from just 1,273 in 1998 to over 10,000 in 2004. “That figure will continue to grow,” says Martin Burke, newly appointed Head of Business Sales at Škoda UK. “Our aim is to become a serious contender in the fleet sales market. Today’s fleet managers need more than just a reliable car on their lists – they’re looking at the whole package, from low running costs to excellent customer support too. Fleet managers can simply pick up the phone and get straight through to our newly-created business centre to discuss anything they need.”
In addition to doubling its number of staff at head office – one of whom will be working exclusively for national contract hire and leasing companies – Škoda will also increase its number of business sales centres around the country from 30 to 40. These retailers have been specifically selected to provide excellent business sales service and a one stop shop for all business motoring needs.
“It was the Octavia that paved the way for Škoda’s entry into the Business Sales market in the UK. It’s an ideal fleet car – reliable, practical and economical. It’s no wonder that more and more fleet managers are adding it to their list of company vehicles.”
