GCF becomes automotive portal for enthusiasts of all disciplines

It has been a long and winding road but we finally made it. The idea to expand our brand as an automotive publisher has been in development for the past 18 months and despite resistance and doubt from outside forces we maintained our determination and vision. It is with great pleasure I present to you our three new sister web sites. They are:

www.JapaneseCarFans.com
www.AmericanCarFans.com
www.WorldCarFans.com.

The concept
In an effort to accommodate our readership with more diversified content while reaching out to new audiences we decided to expand our subject matter. We had thought of creating web sites each with separate and unique identities but felt that idea would have been like starting from the beginning again. Instead we wanted to re-create the GCF concept and apply it to the rest of the major manufacturers. This would allow us to attract a much wider audience but still offer a focused atmosphere.
The Architecture
The objectives in creating the site architecture were to maintain the reader's ability to quickly assess and view information in an entertaining way despite an increased volume of content. We believe this has been achieved and remain confident that it will come as second nature for our loyal readers as well as new visitors who find us in the future.

Staying true to the national theme AmericanCarFans.com and JapaneseCarFans.com will each continue with rapid-fire news updates and large photo galleries just the same as GCF. WorldCarFans.com will serve as the main portal site where all updates from each of the "CarFans" sites can be viewed. Furthermore, each sister site can be accessed separately and then again categorized down to a specific manufacturer or content category. No matter what your preference for car enthusiasm, we offer something for everyone.

Some other changes
GCF now has a new color scheme. In an effort to be consistent with traditional German grand prix colors we incorporated black, gray and silver color scheme throughout.

Secondly, on the left side margin just underneath the navigation buttons there is a new menu labeled, "Jump to a manufacturer". This menu provides "one click" navigation between all "CarFans" sites and their corresponding manufacturer's pages. Just a simple wave of the mouse and an expanding sub-menu dynamically appears listing all sister sites and manufacturers.

The motivation
Some of the biggest players in the online automotive publishing world are the conglomerate print publishers who sell news stand magazines. With their vast resources, one would imagine that these publishing houses would see the internet as the new frontier of uncharted waters waiting to be explored and thus be the pioneers. Instead, they produce mundane web sites with the sole purpose of selling subscriptions to their print magazines.

The "CarFans" sites were designed to be operated from a single administrative interface. Its architecture is massively complex and suited to our exact needs. It gives us the ability to quickly publish a high volume of content with little effort. This is where the "CarFans" sites differentiate themselves and attempt to take automotive publishing to the next level. Nowhere else on the internet will you find a unified group of web sites covering all 50 major manufacturers (including European manufacturers) with such tenacity and regularity. In this age of information where speed is paramount, you can depend on the "CarFans" sites to deliver the timeliest automotive news.

We hardly consider ourselves pioneers but at least we are elevating our game to the next level and can start taking away market share from some "fat cats" who have lost the passion for what it is that they do.

Future plans
We aim to raise the value of the "CarFans" sites with added features such as email newsletters, live coverage of international auto shows, more feature presentations and editorials from independent motoring journalist.

The final stage of the "CarFans" sites will arrive by the end of this summer with the launching of www.EuropeanCarFans.com.

Feedback & Responses
Please feel free to let us know what you think. We try to maintain the work ethic of "steady evolution" as opposed to "rapid mutation" and your feedback is crucial to this process. Ultimately these web sites are for you, the readers. If something is terribly wrong or right we would like to know.

Although we cannot guarantee a response to every email we will try our best to answer all of your questions, suggestions or concerns. Please send us an email in English at this address: feedback@blackfalconmedia.com
