Audi, Bentley, and Lamborghini kicked off one of the most anticipated automobile events of the year, the 26th Meadow Brook Concours d'Elegance, held at the rolling hills of the magnificent Meadow Brook Hall at Oakland University in Rochester Hills, Mich.More than 800 collectors, industry leaders and classic car enthusiasts gathered at a black-tie gala on Saturday, July 31, to enjoy an evening of great cars, spirited conversation and an exciting, high-energy auction of original automotive art works, including the event poster art.
Several current model year vehicles were displayed, including the Volkswagen Touareg V10 TDI, Volkswagen Phaeton W12, Bentley Continental GT, Lamborghini Gallardo, Lamborghini Murcielago, Audi A8 L and the redesigned 2005 Audi A6, which arrives in showrooms later this year.
"The Meadow Brook Concours d'Elegance is one of the premier classic and vintage automobile concourses in North America, and Volkswagen was honored to sponsor the gala event," said Steve Keyes, director of corporate communication for Volkswagen of America, Inc.
The gala kicked off the 26th Meadow Brook Concours d'Elegance on Sunday, where more than 280 of the world's most prized and collectible classic and antique automobiles were displayed and judged. Meadow Brook Hall is the former residence of Matilda Dodge Wilson and is the fourth largest historic house museum in the country.
