Å koda Fabia Gets Refreshed for 2005

Å koda Auto starts supplying an updated version of the Å koda Fabia cars designed for the model year 2005 on Monday 9th August 2004, just after a collection holiday. In addition to some technical changes and design modifications, it was the interior that underwent the biggest innovations.

The changes related to the model year 2005 have affected the whole of the car; they were aimed at making the offerings for this successful model range more attractive and lively. The most marked change in the appearance of the innovated Fabia is a new front bumper.

It is different from the present one especially in a more rounded shape and a new design of air inlets in the bottom part. In the outer apertures, there is a room for fog lamps that now have a circular contour. The radiator grille has also been modified with the shape of grille fins having been changed above all. The rear combined stop and tail lamps have also been modified; their new design optically extends the vehicle rear end even more. The outer appearance has further been revived thanks to a new supply of amply-sized wheel caps, or also new light-alloy wheels. The range of "uni" colours has also been considerably extended at no extra cost; now the range includes Candy white, Lemon yellow (except for the sedan version), Corrida red, Dynamic blue, and Petrol green. The customer can also choose out of a total of eight metallic paint colours.

A great attention has been paid to the interior. Its range of colours has been changed completely with the possibility to choose from several colour options, which has made the vehicle interior more lively and attractive. Brand-new types of material and colours have been used for all upholstery fabrics (save for the RS trim). The fascia has also been modified; now it is made of a high-quality material, applying the so-called "slush" technology, which is currently in common use rather for cars falling under higher classes. The surface of the front part of the panel under the windscreen has been modified, and the dashboard instruments have been entirely redesigned; now their design better corresponds with the other Å koda models. The steering wheel has a new ergonomic shape.

The equipment offerings have been modified as well; in this context, there has been a change in the name of the middle outfit level from Comfort to Ambiente. Consequently, the Å koda Fabia currently offers the following equipment versions: the basic one, called "Junior" and "Easy", then "Classic", "Ambiente" and "Elegance", and sporty RS variant. The range of extra equipments includes elements such as xenon headlamps with automatic alignment control, parking sensor or navigation system with dynamic module that makes it possible now to communicate in the Czech language, too (combined with a new navigation CD-ROM for the Czech Republic).

On the Czech market, the recommended selling prices of the Fabia cars designed for the model year 2005 start at CZK 224,900 (for the Fabia Junior 1.2 HTP/40 kW model); the base price of the Fabia Easy model amounts to 247,900 crowns, and the Fabia Classic 1.2 HTP/40 kW version is priced at 262,900 crowns. The Å koda Fabia, as one of the few cars in its class, continues to be available in three body versions: hatchback, sedan, and estate.
