With the co-operation of the companies Tele Atlas and CEDA
Press Release
With the co-operation of the companies Tele Atlas and CEDA, ????????????????????koda Auto is launching on the market a new version of a digital navigation map of the Czech Republic that already makes it possible to communicate in the Czech language. Compared to the previous versions, another significant new feature is the possibility to navigate and communicate in the Czech language. For the time being, this function in combination with the new CD is only made possible when using new types of navigation instruments installed on the new Octavia, Superb, and Fabia cars. However, the Czech language will gradually become part of more versions of navigation instruments and all CD-ROMs, even in combination with foreign maps. The current version of the navigation map of the Czech Republic contains as many as 92,000 kilometres of roads and motorways, over 14,600 urban centres, and 989 localities charted in detail. Besides, the map includes a total of 16,300 so-called points of interest (POI) such as petrol stations, airports, parking areas, post offices, and many other points. Another new feature is the "TravelGuide" section making it possible to search for the nearest hotel, restaurant, shopping centre, automated teller machine (ATM), chemist's shop, hospital, animal emergency, car repair shop, cultural or sport centre, for example, according to the requirements entered. The navigation map currently covers as many as 52 per cent of the inhabited territory, which means that the Czech Republic ranks among the most advanced EU countries in this respect being ahead of Finland, Ireland, Portugal, and Greece, to name just a few, as to the level of coverage. The navigation map of the Czech Republic will continue to be regularly updated and completed pursuing the aim to achieve full coverage of the territory of the Czech Republic. Apart from the ????????????????????koda car navigation systems, the map can also be used in combination with navigation instruments made by other manufacturers providing they are compatible with the Bosch/Blaupunkt Travel Pilot DX system. More detailed information about the digital navigation map of the Czech Republic can be also found at the TeleAtlas (http://www.teleatlas.com), CEDA (http://www.ceda.cz), or LOCA (http://www.loca.cz) company websites.Add a Comment
