Carlsson, the exclusive tuner for Mercedes-Benz cars in the Southwest German town of Merzig, presents two unique 16-spoke wheels - the 1/16 Ultra Light and the 1/16 Brilliant Edition - for Mercedes-Benz automobiles.

1/16 Brilliant Edition aluminium wheel

An expression of sporting luxury, the elegant 1/16 Brilliant Edition wheel impresses through its unparalleled surface finish. With its striking metallic effect, the brilliant silver middle part of the wheel and the brilliantly polished rim base represent a combination unique in field of accessories for Mercedes-Benz cars. The Carlsson 1/16 Brilliant Edition wheel is available in the following dimensions: 8.5 x 18" und 10 x 18", 8.5 x 19" and 10 x 19", 9.5 x 20", as well as 11 x 20" (rear axle only).

1/16 Ultra Light forged wheel

The surface, outer rim flange and middle part of the 1/16 Ultra Light wheel are highly polished and covered with a coat of clear varnish. The sides of the spokes are brushed to create an elegant contrast to the surface. The 1/16 Ultra Light wheel is available in the following dimensions: 8.5 x 19" and 10 x 19", 9.5 x 20" and 11 x 20" (rear axle only).

The advantages of the multi-spoke design

The multi-spoke design of both wheels is the best way to achieve a low weight. Thanks to the even spacing of the 16 spokes, the forces acting on the wheel are transmitted perfectly to the centre of the wheel. Thus, extra thick walls are unnecessary and the weight of the wheel optimised.

A sensationally low weight through forging

The 1/16 Ultra Light is made in a complex forging process. Compared to cast wheels, Carlsson forged wheels of the same dimension weigh up to 38 percent less despite having the same maximum wheel load. Forging compresses the material so that the forces acting on the wheel are transmitted more homogenously than with a cast wheel. Thus, the unsprung weight of the car can be kept as low as possible. Accordingly, Carlsson forged wheels guarantee a significant improvement in ride comfort compared to conventional aluminium wheels - something that is particularly noticeable on poor road surfaces.
