"Porsche Cayenne" GCF Search - 18 Results Stuttgart. The third model series at Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG, Stuttgart, - the Cayenne - is now also about to attract a great deal of attention in the cinema. "Top Speed" is the name of a 45-minute IMAX film, which will celebrate its official world premiere on April 17th, 2003 in Detroit, with a May release date scheduled for Germany. The Cayenne plays a central role in the film and can be frequently seen in some highly impressive driving scenes. The sporting off-road vehicle built at the new Porsche plant in Leipzig thus fully complements the film's title, as "Speed" also symbolises several fundamental values of the Porsche brand such as, for example, dynamics and speed. Joining the Cayenne, US television star Tim Allen in his role as presenter, introduces additional principle actors, each of whom in their own way experience dynamics and acceleration, and who provide some fascinating insights into the world of speed: Marion Jones, five-time medal winner at the Olympic Games in Sydney 2000 and currently the world's fastest female, Marla Streb, one of the world's finest mountain bikers and Lucas Luhr, Porsche works driver in the American Le Mans Series. The IMAX film attempts to convey to the viewers the physical experience of dynamics and speed as determined by factors such as acceleration, deceleration and gravity. The roughly 600 sq. m screen in the IMAX theatre and the 6-channel sound system, which frequently exceeds 20,000 Watts, help to boost the extraordinary experience for the audience, rendering it a part of the happening. Shooting for "Top Speed" started in the summer of 2001. Impressive landscapes in North America, Canada, Australia and Germany served as locations. In charge of film production was MacGillivray Freeman Films, based in Laguna Beach in the State of California, one of the world's most renowned companies in this area. Since being founded back in 1963 the company has produced more than 25 IMAX films, including such successful screen movies as "To Fly!", "Everest" and "The Living Sea". Next to many national and international awards the productions of MacGillivray Freeman Films have also been honoured with two Oscar nominations. The film project was also supported by Porsche motor sport partners Michelin and Exxon Mobil as well as the Canadian Tourism Commission and Travel Alberta.
