Extended specifications and new paint finishes

For a fitting start to the autumn Wolfsburg's long-distance cruisers the Passat and Sharan are turning out with fresh colours, new design details, and extended specifications. A new Sharan is recognisable at a glance: from the front by the chrome finish radiator grille and new bonnet design, from the side by the exterior mirrors with integrated turn signals and the wider sills, and from the rear by the restyled tail light clusters. From Comfortline level upwards the chrome package is included with bumper and side protection strip applications. The range of paint finishes has been completely renewed. The programme now contains eight new colours from "pearl blue" to "Stonehenge grey". The roof rails can also be ordered in chrome finish. The alloy wheel range has been extended to include the 16-inch wheels "Valencia" and "Sevilla" and the 17-inch wheel "Zandvoort". The exterior upgrading is matched by the new practical interior details: the front seat backs can be equipped with folding tables and cup holders as an option. The backrests of the second seat row are fitted with nets for additional stowage space. New interior trim in anthracite and flannel grey has been added to the four equipment lines. The optional rear seat entertainment has also moved with the time as a DVD player now takes the place of the video recorder. The most striking changes on the Passat are the equal-size exterior mirrors with integrated turn signals and six new paint finishes and trim fabrics. The colours "metallic Nordic green" and "pearlescent Samoa red" appear for the first time in a Volkswagen range. The heated windscreen is a particularly attractive option for the winter months. Volkswagen has also further extended the successful Passat's safety package: the deactivation function for the passenger airbag is now standard. The new look Passat and Sharan are now available at the same prices as before.
