Press Release
New from HAMANN:Exciting tuning for the current Porsche 911 Carrera (996) Up to now HAMANN tuning was exclusively available for BMW, Ferrari, MINI and Range Rover automobiles. Starting in summer 2002, HAMANN has included customizations for the current Porsche 996 model, which celebrated its World Premiere at the ESSEN-MOTOR-SHOW 2002. The HAMANN designers tailored a tracksuit for the 911 which is convincing both in optical and aerodynamic ways. The HAMANN front apron, which is designed to replace the standard bumper, is available for all model versions of the facelift car - whether cabriolet, coupe or Targa. Its design attaches great importance to create an integrated look, to simultaneously reach an optimized ventilation of the coolers in the nose, and to reduce the lift on the front axle. In addition, the HAMANN COMPETITION front spoiler, which further optimizes driving stability at high speed, can be fitted on the new skirt. The new HAMANN face for all new 911 Carrera models is shaped by the headlight covers, which visually divide the large-surface headlights in single lamps. All 996 bodywork versions look lower and more stretched with the sporty designed HAMANN side skirts. The 911 Carrera coupe gets a genuine racing look with the HAMANN roof skin in clear-coated Carbon. At first sight the new HAMANN rear wing with extendible Gurney flap, the subtle roof spoiler for the rear window of the coupe and the three-piece HAMANN diffuser to fit on the standard rear apron catch the eye. In addition the look of the back of the car is made more spectacularly with the HAMANN 4-pipe sport exhaust system made from stainless steel. The HAMANN 19-inch light alloy wheels, which are offered in two different versions, are decisive in the exclusive HAMANN look. The one-piece, forged and high-polished HAMANN EDITION light alloy wheels are available in the dimensions 8.5Jx19 and 11Jx19. Multi-piece HAMANN PG3 wheels with attractive five spoke design and polished outside well are available in the sizes 9Jx19 and 11Jx19 with tires up to the size 315/25 ZR 19. Especially set up for the 19-inch wheel/tire combinations are the HAMANN lowering kits and height-adjustable sport suspensions. In addition, the range contains sport anti-roll bars and spacers for front and rear axle. Exclusive aluminum and Carbon accessories for the cockpit are available just like individually designed full leather trims in all possible colors.
