Polo, Golf and Sharan win magazine survey

Polo, Golf and Sharan chosen as best in class by "auto motor und sport" readers Readers of the German car magazine Auto Motor und Sport were invited to choose the "Best Cars of 2002" - and awarded first place in three categories to Volkswagen models. The new Polo scored a remarkable 44.1 percent of the votes and therefore took the small car class by storm. The Golf was declared best in its class for the 21st time, with 24 percent of the votes. In the "Van" category, the Sharan was given 17.1 percent of the readers' votes, which put it ahead of the field, with the Volkswagen Caravelle as runner-up. 162,000 readers of the magazine took part in this poll for the "Best Cars", distinctly more than in previ-ous years.
